In Michael Moore's story of Idiot nation it is a story that I necessarily agree with, but it was an interesting story to read. Moore has absolutely no problem with saying what is on his mind, which is not always a bad thing, but not necessarily good.
He had quite a few negative things to say about schools and even the leader of our country. I did like the pole that he took of the graduated college students taking a high school level test and only averaging about 50%. His reading was interesting because he seemed to have all of these facts. What I am wondering though is where he got them? He doesn't exactly say where he got all of his information.
Micheal Moore did have a lot to say and most of it was not always on a bright note. To me it seems like he tends to most always have his foot in his mouth.

Good analysis. I think most students would have to agree that there was a gross under use of citation to support his claims. The little bit about the graduates not bieng able to answer those questions was kind of shocking? I wonder though, who was he blaming? I think that he is passionate about finding fault with areas of our society as he points out in this one, but he seems to be famous for his negative opinion. It would seem as though a man with such extensive experience would try and fix them.
ReplyDeleteI totally agree. He needs somebody to pull that foot out of his mouth for him! It seemed like a lot of repeating how much he hates the people in this nation.. His writing did keep me interested. That's for sure.
ReplyDeleteI liked your comment on how he has his foot in his mouth, but i wonder also if he just tries to force his point across rathering than showing the facts. I think a lot of time people try to force their point when they don't have facts.
